Sustainability

Connecticut Post Mall and its owner, Centennial, have been responsible stewards of the environment in the Milford area. We are committed to providing customers, business owners and employees with an exceptional experience, while incorporating environmentally sustainable operating practices and energy-efficiency measures at our property. Ways Connecticut Post has safeguarded the environment over the past year include:

  • Recycling 271 tons of cardboard; the equivalent of saving 4,604 mature trees, conserving 162,488 kilowatt hours of energy, saving 108,326 gallons of oil, and reducing 2,167 lbs. of greenhouse gas emissions.

  • Diverting 30% of waste generated by the shopping center from landfills, saving 9,207 yd3  of landfill space.

  • Providing 90,769 clean driving miles, saving 48,101 pounds of CO2, and offsetting 2,122 gallons of gasoline; equivalent to 312 trees planted through complimentary electric vehicle (EV) charging amenities.

The public can learn more about Connecticut Post Mall’s sustainability efforts through its SEE Centennial initiative, a program built on the three cornerstones of Sustainability, Efficiency and the Environment. At The Post, environmental stewardship is an important part of creating a sustainable future and another way the center supports its commitment to the community of Milford on Earth Day and every day in between.
